Advertising on a WordPress Blog?
I recently became aware that you are not allowed to advertise or have affiliates in any way while using a blog at wordpress.com. I have searched the internet over for a question that no one has been able to answer so far. That question is:
If you use a host that you pay for, to host your blog- like godaddy or something, will wordpress still nuke you? I need to know this because I am dissatisfied using blogspot.com where my blog is currently at. I used to use WP but now want to switch back- but I don’t want to sacrifice my affiliates or advertising because I am using my blog for e-commerce and affiliate marketing purposes.
WordPress states, “Adsense, Yahoo, Chitika, TextLinkAds and other ads are not permitted on WordPress.com blogs*. If you would like to run ads on your blog, please look into running your own copy of WordPress with one of our hosting partners.”
^Does this mean that you can just set up a host and grab your own domain and they wont nuke you?
Any help would be great, and I really appreciate it.

Natalia Popovici answers:
WordPress.com doesn’t allow ads. But if you install your own copy of WordPress on a host, you can use ads.

Is it possible to hide/cloak an affiliate ID link without owning a website?
url shortners like tinyurl and bit.ly only shortens the url but it doesn’t hide the referrer once you click the shortened link. Is it possible to hide/cloak an affiliate ID link without owning a website? Most cloaking softwares and methods only work if you have a website or blog. Unfortunately I don’t have one. I use article marketing.

Should i start a blog for my affiliate marketing?
This is really a two part question. Should i start a blog to help me out with my clickbank or whatever affiliate marketing site i use, (can it be about anything)? Also are the blogs supposed to help you out with affiliate marketing or is it the other way around? Which one supplements the other? also should i get a good blog going first, get some traffic then start using clickbank affiliate marketing or should i just try to do both at the same time? my bad that was more like 3 questions. Anyway im new to this so what do you think?

Natalia Popovici answers:

Your Questions About Affiliate Marketing Blog
Donna asks…
Affiliate marketing on blogspot?
Hello,
I live in Australia and I am just wondering if there are any affiliate networks which allow you to use a blogname.blogspot.com site (ie a sub-domain blog rather than your own top level domain website).
I’m looking to make some money on my blog, other than adsense, and the only affiliate network I can find which doesn’t specifically ask for a website url is clickbank (however I don’t want to promote ebooks).
Does any one use an affiliate network on their blogspot site that they could share with me? Any other comments/suggestions appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Natalia Popovici answers:
Blogspot is ok for hobby sites but if you’re looking to make money you really should have your own domain and hosting. You can register a domain at Godaddy or Namecheap for like $8 and get hosting for around $5 -$9 a month.
Having your own site is pretty cheap and you’ll have full control and never have to worry about Google deleting your blogspot blog.
George asks…
Are you allowed to link through your own affiliate account to purchase something?
Hi
I’m new to the blog and affiliate marketing world, and i’m trying out a blog and using commission junction , and have a few questions, that may sound simple, or even amateurish, but i’ve tried looking for anwers, and maybe i’m using the wrong terminology.
1) am I allowed to click my own link to buy a product i am promoting, and get the affiliate money, much the same as, clicking someone Else’s blog to buy through their link
2) am I allowed to post a link to a product on sale, via a deal site, such as slickdeals, with my affiliate info embedded, so If i am the one posting the news about the deal, I could also cash in on affiliate money?
3) If I advise shoppers to get cashback by linking through cashback sites (bing, ebates etc..) , does that create for them a new affiliate link (from the cashback site), thereby eliminating my link?
If someone could enlighten me i would really appreciate it
Natalia Popovici answers:
In short it depends entirely on each affiliate program or affiliate network.
Clickbank are notorious for allowing affiliates to buy through their own links and it’s perfectly acceptable to do so. Places like CJ you need to be a lot more careful because many networks and individual affiliate programs forbid the practice.
Best advice. You need to read the terms and conditions of all affiliate networks and individual programs and when joining them – if you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, use their contact form/email and ask them

Affiliate marketing using blogger.com?
Is it legal to blog about a product – say for instance “Nike Air Max” and have affiliate links to retailers sites or a product listing of “Nike Air Max” with all affiliate links in? Is this legal and would the company behind Nike have any problems with this if I was ranking on the first page for instance for “Nike Air Max”?
I have been learning from various sources – more notably Patt Flynn. I will put a disclaimer in, thanks mate!
Natalia Popovici answers:
It is legal to do. Even if you have a website that you own, you can advertise such products. Amazon is great place to use to sign up as an affiliate.
Something else that I should mention is that you have to target a longer keyword phrase instead of just “Nike Air Max” since the competition will be too tough. For instance, target : nike air max jr.
I have been working as a full time internet marketing for some time now. I am a member at the site in the link below. If you decide that you want to learn to earn, contact me on that site, you can PM there, my username there is krafty.
Mary asks…
whats the best niche to be in at the moment when it comes to being an affiliate?
I’m trying to start an affiliate blog but I don’t want to waste my time on something that is already over run. Is the online gambling market worth a look or perhaps employment, health and beauty, alternative energy?
Natalia Popovici answers:
Hi the best thing to do is your keyword research 1st then build your blog/ site around that. I think the online Business market is going to kick off BIG TIME over the next couple of years and is always a good market to be in.
That being said, I think picking something you are passionate about & is of interest to you as apposed to something you can just make a quick buck off is most important that way you will come across more truth-full & trustworthy to your potential clients & you will never get bored doing it!
$ Once you’ve picked a market you’ll need a site/ blog. I use Weebly which is great as it’s a site & blog combined & it’s FREE {use the link bellow}
$ Then you’ll need some products to sell on there. I’ve been using Clickbank for years now & I also use a cool plug-in to find the best products, in any niche, Affiliate Elite {find the links bellow}
$ Then you need TRAFFIC going to your promotions & there’s a new TRAFFIC getting program that’s just been released AUTO TRAFFIC AVALANCHE which works like gang-bursters! {find link bellow}
This is my own little system & it works for me. Anyone can copy this & get GREAT results!
All the best, Robbie Griffiths

New to Clickbank affiliate marketing, someone help!?
Please don’t be an affiliate who’s trying to link me to a course guide that’ll in turn put more money into your pocket.
Anyway, I just opened my account and I’m going through the marketplace scanning for good products (ones with compelling pitch pages and commission rates) but what next when I actually find one worth promoting? Do I build a blog describing the product and then leave my hoplink at the end? Do I create a website promoting it but wouldn’t that mean I’d have to purchase resale rights???
If an experienced affiliate would like to talk on yahoo messenger, let me know. I feel very overwhelmed and sad.
The person below is just like another affiliate selling me something! I’m not dumb guys! I want genuine help.
Natalia Popovici answers:
I was an affiliate, spent lots of time trying to figure it – creating a website was paying the hosting fee, printed all of the material and never made any money. I decided to go with a real product with a live website. I decided to go with travel. One of my concerns with the Click Bank is that it is so hard to track what is happening in your favor. It looks really good on paper, but I was spending alot and not making anything. So maybe take a minute before you spin your wheels around that whole concept!
